Few years ago Instagram has become a new social media platform and with no time
people started to make it one of the popular social websites.
Today we are going to
take a look at two instagram accounts : @marriottintl and @novotelnorthamerica.
Marriott has 25.8k of
followers, at the same time Novotel has just 787 followers. Marriott does not
have any special schedule for the content on Instagram; it can be posted
once/twice per week in average. Novotel is posting their content once per week.
Marriott`s posts are
photos from different places, where there are Marriott Resorts hotels. It may
seems boring, however, they are trying to interact with people asking different
questions.
Novotel is using
different technique to interact with consumers and followers. Their content is
photos made by clients and customers. It is nice for almost every person to be
posted by some company, especially as big as Novotel.
Novotel is using the
same hashtag as in Twitter : #NewNovotel. Also, depending on the place where
picture was taken, they are using local hashtags such as #toronto
#novotelmississauga etc.
Marriott`s hashtags
are the name of the places their hotels are located such as #bahamas #thailand.
It may not be the most successful technique because when you click on such a
common hashtags there are a lot of different pictures and it is hard to find
the one you actually need.
Lets take a look at
the popular posts.
Marriott has a photo
of the Marriott Resort in Bahamas and it
has 1009 likes, and a lot of comments. It has such a success because there is a
contest happening with #weddingwire hashtag. It is a giveaway to win a
honeymoon there.
The most successful
post of Novotel has 75 likes and it is photo from the Torontoblog profile. It
does not have much hashtags; and it has just one comment.
I think, that Marriott
is more successful on the Instagram, due to their popularity and also they are
trying to advertise their account with different contests.
