Ritz-Carlton vs. Shangri-la on YouTube

The Ritz Carlton created a unique series on YouTube and also featured on Facebook where they highlight in a cartoon format how they helped and arranged to pull off some of the amazingly memorable moments in their customers lives; including marriage proposals. Take a look here. Most of the Ritz’s YouTube videos are of highlighting their hotels and resorts and well as how the Ritz-Carlton can make your dreams come true from weddings to glass blowing experiences. The Ritz posts YouTube videos once every two weeks on average. Ritz Carlton’s most successful recent video is “Warm Welcome to the New RitzCarlton.com where it highlights they invite you to explore their new refreshed and distinctive new website giving the unique opportunity to simply plan your next travel destination. You could reserve a room or a suite, browse through luxurious hotels and resorts as well as read stories from other travelers.






This YouTube video has 1,446 views as well as 10 likes making it Ritz-Carlton’s most recent successful post. I believe that this video was successful because it told the customer how they have made many positive changes most importantly to their website.

Shangri-la Hotels and Resorts posts several YouTube videos per week with a total of 3 videos last week and 5 videos 2 weeks ago. The content that they produce are story like short films created by Shangri-la productions. Very unique and impressive, they stress the sophistication and elegance of Shangri-la Hotels and Resorts. I believe that this video is successful because it is a well-crafted production and already obtained 131 views in its first 20 hours of launch.

On Instagram, Ritz-Carlton makes a great impression. They produce content that is eye-catching, interesting and relevant. They post pictures of extraordinarily exotic locations, luxurious hotel suites and relaxing getaways. Ritz-Carlton posts their captivating Instagram content multiple times daily. The description is as follows; Our official account is a collection of your #RCMemories, celebrating travel around the globe. To learn how we may use your photo, please click below."  The title heading for Ritz is; “The Ritz-Carlton (@ritzcarlton) • Instagram photos and videos”. Hashtags included are; #LakeTahoe, #California, #Rainbow, #Adventure, #RoomWithAView, #Dubai, #LuxuryTravel, #UAE, #Poolside and #Paradise to name a few. With 2192 like and 60 comments, this sunset photo taken in the Caribbean was by far the most successful post. This post was successful due to its raw and original content of a gorgeous sunset which resonates the elements of calmness, tranquility and quality.

Shangri-la’s Instagram will have you at hello! They produce content multiple times a day that shows stunning images of world and the most exotic of locations. Shangri-La leaves a lasting mark with its Instagram channel. The title heading includes ‘Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts (@shangrilahotels) • Instagram photos and videos’. The description tag includes “Capture your most memorable Shangri-La experience on photo/video and share it with us with #MyShangrila”. With 1,112 likes and 17 comments, this post taken in Singapore was a definite winner. I believe this post was successful due to the uniqueness of Singapore’s Garden by the Bay especially at night where it is truly captivating.

Content marketing idea for Novotel.

Today I will share an idea of content marketing for Novotel brand, because they need more success in that area.
Idea: Using Youtube as a main tool, my idea is to film a video about Christmas in different places where their hotels are located. Show different cultures and make sure people are aware, that spending Christmas in a hotel may be as fun (may be even more) as spend it in home country.
Audience: Main target market would be families, because Christmas is a family holiday.  Especially, families who value traveling and would love to explore something new. However, it may be considered as motivation for traditional families, who used to celebrate Christmas at home.
Goals:
·      Earn more than 20% (around 155) of new followers.
·      Get around 500 of views
·      340 likes
·      around 100 comments

Time of launching: It should come out 2 months before Christmas, so people would see it and have time to decide and plan their trip.
Social Strategy: It should be promoted on every social platform Novotel has accounts on. So, it would be every week Instagram posts about a new campaign. Twitter would retweet different reviews about Christmas at Novotel. Also, we will ask people to share their experience about different holidays in Novotel.

How it will work: People would see the video that can show them the perfect holiday in Novotel. We also can use some kind of deals for the Christmas period for families.

Fan pages of Marriott

It is important to learn about the place you are going to stay at before the trip. Therefore, today I am going to talk about non-official pages where you can find information about Marriot Hotel in Toronto.
First one is a famous booking.com. Here, you can try to find best rates and special deals for the booking of the room in Marriott. Next one is Travelocity.ca. It is a platform for reviews about different places. There you can find hotel details and description of facilities. Also, you can different reviews directly from clients. Fan pages of Novotel

Hello!

Today we are going to take a look at different fan pages where we can find information and reviews about Novotel hotel.

First one is BlogTo ( http://www.blogto.com/hotels/novotel-toronto ) , it is a website about Toronto, where you can find reviews for the Hotel,  detailed location and a little bit of description.



Next page is TripAdvisor. It is a platform for booking a room in a hotel , but also it has a lot of different reviews on it! Moreover, you can see the ranking between all of the hotels in Toronto! Marriott vs Novotel on Youtube

There is no secret that YouTube is one of the most popular social media websites and it is important for the big and small companies to stay active on it.
We are going to take a look at two Youtube accounts: Marriott and Novotel hotels.
Marriott has 8k followers, Novotel Hotels has a 761. As I can see both of the accounts are not really active, they have post one time per 2 month in average. 
Marriott posts promotional videos as well as different tutorials on easy booking; they also have some kind of cartoon about the holiday in their resort, which can be interesting to take a look at free time.
Novotel has different content: the observing videos of different resorts of Novotel, where you can see the room, lobby and different facilities. It is very useful for people who value comfort and feel more comfortable when they know where are they going and how it looks; they also have supporting videos for different incidents such as terror attack in Paris. It makes them look social involved.
Novotel does not have a lot of description of videos. It makes it hard to find on google if you don’t know the title.
However, Marriott leaves all the links for social media in description box and also uses keywords such as Marriott Resorts and Marriott Rewards.
The most successful video of Marriott is called Marriott Rewards sends 50 to Super Bowl 50 #50to50. It has 2,387,805 of views, 578 likes, 2 dislikes, 73 comments. It had such a success because it was a partnership with SuperBowl.



The most successful video of Novotel has 335 views, 2 likes and 0 comments.
